Game Gather s a social platform built specifically for tabletop gamers, connecting players with local gaming communities while giving game stores new ways to engage with customers. They needed a suite of photo and video content that could establish the brand, introduce the platform, and demonstrate the many ways it could bring the tabletop community together.
The project resulted in two distinct videos. The first was an explainer video designed to introduce Game Gather’s platform and demonstrate its capabilities—from finding local games and connecting with other players to discovering nearby game stores and buying or trading games and game pieces. The second was a narrative commercial following a downtrodden gamer who discovers that his friends are playing a game nearby through Game Gather, transforming his mood and bringing him back into the community.
I served as Writer, Producer, Director, Art Director and Editor, overseeing both projects from concept through final delivery.
A major creative challenge was authentically representing the culture of tabletop gaming. The audience is passionate and knowledgeable, so creating a world that felt genuine was essential. I sourced a visually appropriate game store location, selected recognizable games and props, and helped build an authentic game-night environment. I also cast and coordinated a group of enthusiastic gamers to create the energy and community that would make the narrative feel believable.
The result was a pair of videos that balanced product education with storytelling, showing not just what Game Gather could do, but why connecting with other players is at the heart of the tabletop gaming experience.
